Comparative effectiveness of adding delamanid to a multidrug-resistant tuberculosis regimen comprised of three drugs likely to be effective

In regimens containing combinations of three highly active and probably effective antituberculosis drugs, the addition of delamanid had no detectable effect on culture conversion at two to six months.

Abstract

In conclusion, although we did not identify a benefit for the 2- or 6-month culture conversion of adding delamanid to a DRR/MDR-TB regimen with only three likely effective and often very potent drugs, the rarity of delamanid discontinuation reinforces existing evidence for its safety.
