CONADIS, an entity attached to the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations, distinguished Socios En Salud as an inclusive organization for its good practices in favor of people with disabilities.
From the Congress of the Republic, in the framework of the “National Day of the Person with Disability”, Socios En Salud, an entity dedicated to the health care of the most vulnerable, received the recognition for “Inclusion and Disability 2021” for its permanent support in promoting an inclusive society free of stereotypes and prejudices so that people with disabilities can achieve full development in Peru, awarded by the National Council for the Integration of the Person with Disability (CONADIS).
The award ceremony took place in the Raul Porras Barrenechea hall of the Legislative Palace of Peru, where the contribution of public and private institutions, organizations of persons with disabilities and distinguished authorities of our country, focused on “Inclusion and Disability” was highlighted, also highlighted the importance of raising awareness among citizens to work together for the development and welfare of vulnerable populations.
This is one of the most important recognitions about the rights and attention that people with disabilities should have in our country, who represent 10.3% of our population, according to the last National Census of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics. The outstanding event was attended by Lilia Paredes Navarro, First Lady of the Nation; Hilda Portero LĂłpez, Vice President of the Commission for Social Inclusion and Persons with Disabilities of the Congress of the Republic (CISPD); and Marco Antonio Gamarra La Barrera, President of the National Council for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities (CONADIS).
The present recognition for good practices in favor of the inclusion and development of people with disabilities was received by Leonid Lecca, general director of Socios En Salud, last Friday, November 19.
”From Socios En Salud we strive to provide a preferential option in healthcare to the most vulnerable and marginalized communities. Therefore, we are committed to national and global efforts to bring health with an inclusive approach to the differently abled population. It is our goal to work to ensure equal opportunities for all,” he added.
