More than 30 people gathered at the First Meeting of Representatives of User and Family Associations of Community Mental Health Services organized by the Directorate of Mental Health of the Ministry of Health in coordination with Socios En Salud.
With the aim of promoting the organization and active participation in the exercise and protection of the rights of the mental health population, the General Directorate of Strategic Interventions in Public Health of the MINSA and Socios En Salud (SES) held the workshop “Encuentro de Asociaciones de Usuarios y Familiares de los Servicios de Salud Mental Comunitaria” (Meeting of Associations of Users and Relatives of Community Mental Health Services).
During the two-day meeting (June 30 and July 1), participants received training on issues related to obtaining and benefits of the disability card and certificate, reforms, strategies and rights in mental health, among others. This intervention was conducted by staff from the National Council on Disability (CONADIS), the Directorate for Prevention and Control of Disability of the MINSA and the National Superintendence of Health.

The meeting was attended by more than 30 representatives from 15 regions of Peru: Amazonas, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huancavelica, La Libertad, Huanuco, Madre de Dios, Puno, Tacna, Tumbes, Ucayali, Piura and Lima.
