Therefore, Socios En Salud through the Social Protection Program provides social accompaniment and assistance, in order to address the social determinants surrounding the care, attention and cure of the patient, which put at risk the abandonment of their treatment due to lack of social support in paperwork, food, medicines, toiletries, housing, among others.
Five ways in which Socios En Salud provides social support:
1. Nutritional support
Healthy eating is essential to staying well, but is difficult to access for many of our patients. In the last year, 1209 nutritional supports were provided to eliminate food insecurity and contribute to disease cure through iron supplements, kits and food baskets.
2. Housing support
Without safe and stable housing, it is nearly impossible for patients to stay healthy, whether recovering from an injury or managing a chronic condition. As a result, more than 168 patients have benefited from housing support and a prefabricated module.

Socios En Salud opened the first Hogar Protegido in Peru for people living with schizophrenia, a home that has since served as a model for more than 50 throughout the country.
3. Transportation and paperwork support
Transportation is essential for the care of a patient, the economic situation causes missed medical appointments or lack of care due to incomplete documentation.
Therefore, in order to ensure that patients can reach the hospital and can receive timely care, 371 people have benefited in mobilities or tickets, diapers, clothing and others, in addition to 109 people were provided support for their documentation procedures.
4. Support in self-sustainability
More than 12 people received business implementation support to engage in trading activities for economic independence to maintain long-term sustainable employability.
Important fact
Socios En Salud has carried out installations of sales kiosks seeking to strengthen labor insertion in users with Chronic Mental Disorder (CMD) of the Mental Health Centers.
5. Support in educational training
Education equips people with the tools for development in their lives. This basic human right is inaccessible to many of our Community Health Agents (CHAs) and children.
Partners In Health in recognition of the hard work they do every day has awarded 12 academic excellence scholarships that will cover the costs of tuition, student fees, administrative costs of certification, degree or degree, among others.
