The Maternal and Child Health team of Socios En Salud and the Jorge Ligan health center, located in the district of Carabayllo, joined forces to organize a team of 13 pregnant women, all under 13 weeks gestación, to be part of a project focused on two important points of nutrition, healthy eating and hygiene in food preparation.
This workshop has six sessions in its entirety, in which each session is divided into two parts, the theoretical, where they are informed of the properties of each food and a reliable space is provided to make any questions about nutrition, and the practical part, where they prepare their own food.
Guided and accompanied by the Socios En Salud, they have achieved a complete learning process, from such essential things as washing their hands before handling any food, to being able to understand the properties of the food they will use in their own meals to benefit themselves and their babies.
With ingenuity and creativity this group prepares exquisite dishes such as; chaufa of breaded fish, or a delicious huancaína of quinoa, among others. They manage to create a table with delicious, economical and above all very healthy food.
Through this initiative, Socios En Salud seeks to raise awareness about the importance of nutrition in pregnancy, committing to them, their babies and the health of both.
