Socios En Salud participated in the 10th Annual CUGH Conference in the USA.

Socios En Salud participated in the 10th Annual Conference of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH): Translation and Implementation for Impact in Global Health(10th Annual CUGH Conference: Translation and Implementation for Impact in Global Health), held in the city of Chicago in the United States, March 8-10.

The CUGH is an annual conference organized by local and international partners, such as the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, University of Illinois and Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (Peru). On this occasion, Patricia Garcia, the former Minister of Health of Peru participated as a speaker and moderator.

During the three days, specialists and researchers from diverse areas from all over the world presented their proposals to overcome the knowledge needs gap, expand evidence-based solutions and impact public policies so that the global challenges that the community faces can be effectively addressed.

On the last day of presentations, Harvard University researcher Ann C. Miller, also principal investigator of Partners In Health’s “CASITA” early childhood development project, was moderating the panel discussion on “Warp and Weft: Weaving Child Development into Health Programs in Low-Resource Settings.”

At this discussion table, the representative of Socios En Salud, Nancy Rumaldo, had the opportunity to present the experience of the CASITA project, so the focus of the presentation was based on the experience of previous pilots, samples of project progress, showing the effectiveness of the CASITA methodology, the importance of socioemotional support to the caregiver and the effectiveness of the community care model from the community health agent.
