This July, as Peru celebrates its independence and recognizes the achievements of its people, Socios En Salud (SES) reaffirms its commitment to the people whose right to health is most violated. Throughout the 2024-2025 period, the organization has managed to impact more than 300 thousand people through prevention actions, early diagnosis and community accompaniment.

The results, supported by an articulated work with the Ministry of Health (MINSA) and with the support of the TB-HIV Country Project, financed by the Global Fund, show significant advances in the care of HIV, tuberculosis, mental health, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and maternal and child health. The figures represent not only improved access to health care, but also life stories that have been changed through timely intervention.

In total, 306,020 people were screened to detect health conditions that profoundly affect our communities. These actions were carried out in community spaces, health centers and hard-to-reach areas, with teams that prioritize accompaniment as a tool to reduce gaps and strengthen trust in the health system.

People diagnosed in time

In addition, 21,930 people with some health condition were identified and diagnosed in a timely manner. Many of them live with HIV, tuberculosis, face mental health problems, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) or require maternal and child health care. In parallel, 25,300 people received care and accompaniment by SES and the TB-HIV Country Project, with a community approach that promotes the right to health.

These figures reflect the territorial reach of Socios En Salud, as well as its capacity to respond to complex situations that require an interdisciplinary and continuous approach. The SES model - based on listening, closeness and working together with community leaders - has proven to be an effective strategy to improve adherence to treatment, reduce stigma and ensure that no one is left behind.

More than 21 thousand people were detected with some disease or health condition, and more than 25 thousand received care and accompaniment in the period 2024-2025.

A road that continues to be built

On this National Holiday, Socios En Salud renews its commitment to the country. It does so by celebrating not only the achievements, but also the people who, despite the difficulties, have access to a diagnosis and today walk a path of dignified care. It also does so with the certainty that this work is only possible with strong partnerships between the State, international cooperation, private enterprise and civil society organizations.

Through its model of community accompaniment and person-centered strategies, SES will continue to work so that more Peruvians can fully exercise their right to health. Independence is also celebrated in this way: by ensuring that all people, no matter where they live or what their condition, can live with dignity, health and hope.
